Soft Cat Tent Bed

These types of cat tent beds can be made of plain material, faux suede or linen.  They are lined inside and can come with different outside textures like corduroy. There is a cushion inside the base of the tent to give your pet extra comfort. The inside of the tent is filled with soft poly-foam to help support the structure of the tent. These types of tents can usually be cleaned in the washing machine on a delicate wash and then you let it air dry. You do not put them in the dryer.  

Some of these tents come in different sizes ranging from 16 inch x 16 inches x 14 inches, 19 inches x 19 inches x 19 inches and 19 inches x 19 inches x 16 inches. You need to check the size of the front opening to ensure that it is large enough for your cat to enter it. Some tents have an entrance that can measure about 8 inches. The design of these types of tents means that nervous cats will feel more comfortable inside them as they are protected on all sides and they can remain hidden and this can give them a sense of security. The tent usually comes in different colors and is easy to assemble and disassemble.

Disadvantages

• Only suitable for very small dogs like Chihuahuas, cats, rabbits or ferrets. It is not suitable for large dogs.
• It can only be used inside and is not suitable for outdoor use.
• The tent only has an opening on the front; there is no closure to keep the pet inside it like a regular human tent.
• The stitching can become loose if you put in a high spin cycle and the plush filling can lose its shape after washing.
• If the inside cushion is removed, there is no extra comfort for your cat as the lining at the base is very thin.
• Different manufacturers have different size tents so you need to make sure that you check all the measurements before you buy it.
• Some brands can have a tent that loses its shape after washing. The tent will no longer be stable and it will collapse in.
• The tent might need to be hand washed as some have less filling inside the structure than others. 
• If it gets too wet the stability of the structure can be impacted.
