Stress Ball used as a Cat Toy

If you happen to have a stress ball in your home, then you might not know that this is an ideal toy for your cat. Its rubber, soft, easy to roll on the floor and it’s also made of a material that they are able to grip easily with their claws. Your cat will love playing with this because it is firm, it’s tough and it’s easy enough for them to pick up.

Advantages

  • It’s a cheap toy to purchase.
  • Many people will already have one of them in their home.
  • It doesn’t attract cat hair so no matter how hairy your cat is you won’t see hair on it.
  • It’s tough enough to withstand a cat hitting it with their back claws when they are playing with it.
  • You can throw the ball across the room to another person and your cat will chase it as it flies over its head.
  • You can get different types of stress balls, but the round ball would be the best one to purchase.
  • It's a great toy to help you teach your cat to hit a ball and send it back to you. This is because the ball is heavy enough to fly across the floor.
  • It is soft enough that it won’t break anything in your home.

Disadvantages

  • It is made of rubber so if you cat is gripping it with their claws over time holes will appear on the rubber.
  • If pieces of rubber come off, your cat might ingest them, so supervision would be required when your cat is playing with this toy.
  • If your cat gets used to playing with it, anytime you decide to take it out and use it for yourself, your cat will think its playtime.
  • It doesn’t bounce so you will have to throw it across the room or roll it along the floor.
