When you rehome a cat or a kitten, you need to be very careful when you are buying some of the commercial cat toys that are on the market. Some cat toys are not very safe for kittens or even cats. Disadvantages

• They are very small so if a cat accidentally ended up ingesting one of them they could end up choking.
• If the toy ball was ingested and it managed to get into your cat's digestive track it could lead to death if your cat was unable to pass it out through their bowel.
• Any cat toy that has tinsel on it is dangerous. If your cat or your kitten accidentally swallows some of the tinsel, then it will start gagging to try and throw up the sliver of tinsel stuck in its throat.  If a cat gets dehydrated from continuously vomiting up and it is not treated immediately, it dies.
• Any cat toy that has tinsel bits attached to it will also most likely shed pieces all over your floor.
• These types of cat’s toys won’t be used by many cats and it will only be a waste of your money to purchase one.
• If you cat plays with these toys a lot then overtime they will fall apart and the inside will end up falling out onto the floor. You need to make sure that your cat doesn’t ingest the stuffing if this happens.
